FREQENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are custom invitations?
Custom invitations are completely personalized and one-of-a-kind. Unlike custom-ized invitations that you order from a store catalog, custom invitations are created especially for you and your unique occasion. Throughout the custom-design process, you will have a designer by your side to recommend colors, style ideas and design options that suit your specific needs. Your stationery creation will be a direct expression of your style and taste.
How far in advance should I contact you?
We advise that you contact us as soon as you're ready to discuss your stationery needs. The sooner we discuss, the more likely we will be available. Please be prepared to discuss the basic details such as the quantity you need for each item, the type of information that you would like to include, and the look and colors that you have in mind.
What are your prices?
Our custom stationery is created from scratch to suit your unique specifications, so the prices vary significantly depending on the complexity of the piece and the total quantity you need. The best advice we can give is to let us know what you have in mind as well as a budget or range you are comfortable with spending. We can then provide you with stationery options that fit your specific needs.
Can you give me a pricing example?
Using a wedding invitation as an example, we can create a 5x7" single-layer panel wedding invitation with black printing on a matte cardstock with a matching response card and unprinted matte response and mailing envelope for $2.75 per set. This pricing is based on 100 invitation sets.
There are many variables and options that will add to the complexity and cost of this basic invitation set. To give you an idea, these include metallic or patterned cardstocks, colored ink(s), raised or engraved printing, backing layer(s), enclosures such as pocketfolds or gatefolds, additional inserts beyond the response card, custom map designs, personalized seals or bellybands, embellishments such as ribbon and crystals, envelope liners, printed envelopes. Also, quantity makes a big difference as there are economies of scale.
The majority of our custom wedding invitation suites are priced within the $500 - $1,000 range for 100 invitation sets.
Do your prices include printing and assembly?
Yes, our price quotes always include design, paper, printing (flat digital or offset printing is standard) and assembly, unless otherwise discussed. Costs will be clearly defined and outlined on your order invoice - there will be no hidden fees at the end.
How many invitations will I need?
Each couple, family and individual over 18 will receive their own invitation. Keep this in mind as you finalize your guest list and determine how many invitations you will need to cover your list. Then add 5-10 extra for keepsakes and last-minute guests that are guaranteed to pop up. It can be expensive to increase your invitation count after the order invoice is approved.
Do you assist with wording and proof-reading?
We may suggest a wording change for etiquette or design reasons, however, our main focus is the design. You will be responsible for providing the wording that you would like to incorporate for each designed piece, and for proof-reading the wording for spelling and formatting accuracy before approving your final design proofs.
Will you send me a samples before printing my order?
We are unable to provide physical samples due to the time and resources spent printing, cutting and assembling a single custom-designed piece. However, you can expect to be informed and involved throughout the design process, and you will receive digital design proofs via email that you will approve for every printed item on your purchase order.
