What are custom invitations?
Custom invitations are completely personalized and one of a kind. Custom invitations are designed and created especially for you and your unique occasion. Throughout the custom design process, you will have a designer by your side to recommend colors, style ideas and design options that suit your specific needs. Your finished stationery creation will be a direct expression of your style and taste.
How far in advance should I contact you?
6-12 months in advance for wedding invitation orders is recommended, and at least 2 months in advance for other events and annouoncements. Please be prepared to discuss the basic details such as the quantity you need for each item, the type of information that you need to include, and the look and colors that you have in mind. Once the order quote has been developed and approved, a deposit will hold your place on the Plush Paper design schedule.
What are your prices?
Each invitation and stationery item is created from scratch to suit your unique specifications, and prices vary depending on the complexity of the piece and the total quantity you need. There are many variables that affect the pricing, including the paper selection, sizes, format, enclosures, and embelishments such as backing layers, monogram seals, wraps and envelope liners.The minimum order for custom wedding invitations is $600. Please note, the majority of Plush Paper's custom wedding invitations are priced between $7-10 per set for an average order of 125 invitations. The minimum order for other event invitations is $200. Do your prices include printing and assembly?
Yes, orders include custom design, paper, printing (flat is standard) and assembly, unless otherwise discussed and noted on the order invoice. Assembly includes any paper cutting, adhering and bundling if pockets or paper wraps or ribbon that are included. You will be in charge of adding postage stamps, and stuffing and sealing mailing envelopes.
How many invitations will I need?
Each couple, family and individual over 18 will receive their own invitation. Keep this in mind as you finalize your guest list and determine how many invitations you will need to cover your guest list. Then add 5-10 extra for keepsakes and last-minute guests that are guaranteed to pop up.
Do you assist with wording and proof-reading?
I am primarily focused on the design. You will be responsible for providing the wording that you would like to incorporate for each designed piece, and for proof reading the wording for spelling and formatting accuracy before approving your final design proofs.
Will you provide samples before printing my order?
I am unable to provide physical samples prior to printing the entire order. However, you can expect to be informed and involved throughout the design process, and you will receive digital design proofs via email that you will approve for every printed item on your purchase order. Nothing is printed until I receive your final approval.
What will my postage cost be?
Non-wedding invitations, announcements and cards will typically require a 1 oz. stamp. Most wedding invitations will require a 2 oz. stamp. Response card envelopes will require a 1 oz. stamp, and response postcards require a first-class postcard stamp. If the mailing envelope is square or includes thick ribbon that causes the surface to be uneven, they may be subject to additional postage fees. I recommend that you have the post office measure and weigh your mailing to confirm the postage rate.
Do you provide custom postage stamps?
Yes, if you are interested I can design a coordinating stamp(s) that you can order through the Plush Paper Design Shop.
Beyond the invitations, what else can you create?
Programs, favor tags and stickers, menu cards, seating posters, table cards, signage...anything you need that is printed on paper! These paper accessories will coordinate with your invitations and accent your event with color, style and sophistication. If you have a unique out-of-the-box idea but haven't seen an example on our site, please inquire...I would love to assist you!Plush Paper also provides designs for non-paper goods, such as gobo lights, CDs, vinyl decals and t-shirts, as well as monograms for photo booth strips.
Can we still work together if I live outside the Detroit Metro Area?
Yes, absolutely. I understand that meeting in-person is not always possible. Most of the communication and proofing is done through email, and phone calls, swatch mailings and order shipments can all be arranged.
What is your cancellation policy?
In the event of cancellation, the initial deposit payment will be retained as a cancellation fee. If the order has already been approved to print, the order must be paid in full.What type of payment do you accept?
I accept payment via cash, check, PayPal or Google Checkout. Details are included on the order invoice that is provided.
